Note from Peter

Imagine returning on New Year’s Day to Toronto (-10 Celsius) from 12 days in Jamaica (+30 Celsius) to find that the radiator in your home is not working!  Remember, this is a public holiday, with nowhere open.  You do not know how to get the radiator fixed, as you have never had to have a radiator in Jamaica.  You do not know where to turn.  What do you do?

Thankfully, I never had to answer that question last night.  For I returned to Toronto to find this note on my breakfast table:

“LAST NIGHT YOUR HEATING BROKE

DID NOT GET FINISHED UNTIL 12 LAST NIGHT

I HAVE CHEKE ALL YOUR RAD AND ALL IS GOOD TODAY 1.15 P.M.

RAINBOW

PETER

HEATING CO.

HAVE A GOOD HOLIDAY XMAX”

Yes, Peter, you blessed soul –all is good today. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your dedication to getting a problem that I did not even know I had, fixed.  I thank you for your kindness is leaving this lovely note and your wish for a good holiday.  Your kindness will return to you in abundance.  But most of all Peter, I thank you for reminding me that all is well – always!

At the beginning of this wonderful New Year, 2010, I wish for you an abundance of Peters in your experience – kind, caring souls who solve problems before you even know you have them and that you live in a consciousness that ALL is well – ALWAYS!

All is good, MO!!! Do you know why? It is only because you are sending out ‘good’ why you receive ‘good’ … have a safe and ‘good’ 2010!! Peace and love sista!

True thing Kathy – didn’t think of it in that way before, but it really is the Law of Attraction in action! What a wonderful world! Wishing you an amazing 2010!

We returned from balmy Jamaica to wet California, but our luggage was not on the flight. I kept my cool and was very pleasant to the Jet Blue attendant, I am sure she appreciated my understanding and willingness to have them deliver our luggage the following day. With the AA crash and Detroit terrorist attempt, I was happy to make it home safely. I am not eager to fly for awhile though. Too much hassel, if I can’t drive or take a train, forget about it.

    Happy New Years to all.

So true Elsa. What I really, really love is the thoughtfulness of the note! And he wrote it on a piece of paper towel, so he really did want to write it. I am going to e-mail the blog to his company.

    Marguerite,
Just a note to let you know how much I appreciate and enjoy your musings on “Free and Laughing”. They hit home so many times with encouragement and good advice. You are a source of inspiration to so many of us and I thank you sincerely for the good wholesome way that you have affected my life through this medium. I wish for you God’s richest blessings in the years ahead and health and strength to continue what you’re doing.

Happy New Year !! Wishing you the best for 2010 !! With respect to the radiator, Peter exemplified excellent service, dedication and a strong sense of being PRO-ACTIVE and initiative oriented in terms of resolving a critical problem before you even became cognizant of it. Hopefully, such a response on the part of Peter can be considered instructive or a teacheable moment for other service providers.Nuff respect !!

  10. freeandlaughing says:

Best wishes for 2010 to you too Pauline

Thank you Ruth – you warm my heart on a very cold day in Toronto! I affirm for you an amazing 2010 – just the way you declare it!

  12. freeandlaughing says:

Thanks Estaban – it is my hope too that by sharing this experience others will see their work as an opportunity to demonstrate love in action. “Work is love made visible” said Kahlil Gibran. What a beautiful world it would be if we all approached it in this way – like Peter

  13. ANDREA LIVINGSTON says:

    It is well.

  14. freeandlaughing says:

That’s always a great little affirmation to remind us that no matter the appearances, underneath and within – all is well. Thanks Andrea. “It is well” and a breath can totally change a situation – by changing the only thing that you have the power to change – yourself!

Yes, I bless him too. I actually met him – he came back as the apartment was still not warm enough. Very sweet guy, who took the time to explain to me what was wrong and what I could do about it. I e-mailed my blog to the resident manager, so she would hear the praise and not just complaints.

Indeed Cantu – seen and unseen, and always hard at work helping us!
