It’s never too late for love

LoveMy brother and I recently spent two delightful hours with our 90-year old Uncle John and Rita, his wife of 3 years. Yes, 3 years. Uncle John found and committed to love again at the age of 87! To be in their presence is to experience the timelessness of love. The entire time we were with them, they held hands, nested their heads together and gazed lovingly at each other. They praised and appreciated each other, each admitting to us how fortunate they are to have the other. They demonstrate that there are no limits to love.

WE may feel that as time goes by, as we age, that love is running out. If we are single, then perhaps panic sets in – will we ever find that perfect person, that love relationship for which we yearn? Will we ever again feel the passion of a kiss, an intimate moment, the comfort of being a couple? If we are in a relationship, perhaps the love has tarnished, dulled by the intimacy of daily routine and we are together simply because it’s a less difficult choice than to be alone “at our age”.

Love is only a moment away. It’s here with us. We just need to open to it, to say “YES”, bravely and without fear. There are no limits to love, so it cannot be measured in time, quantity, value or anything else. We do not need to be envious of couples that have spent decades together. A decade, a moment – it is the same. All boils down to one moment at a time. If we find love today and we die tomorrow it is still timeless. It is still worth it.

Practice love today. The Law of Attraction will work its magic and bring more love into our lives. Do not worry about time. Love, appreciate, savour and enjoy each moment of love. Be grateful for each other, imperfections and all. Laugh, smile, treasure each moment.

And what if we do not yet have that special someone to love? Perhaps we should get into the habit of love – the habit of appreciating those around us, the habit of being grateful for love wherever we find it – our children, our pets, the kindness of friends and strangers.

How do I know all of this? I really don’t know. I just choose to believe this for belief in the alternative doesn’t feel right. When I saw Uncle John and Rita, I felt the mighty joy of love deep in my being. Love is timeless, endless beyond thought, ideas and actions. Love is who we are. Let us just remember that, and from that place, we make love a habit.

This is such a heartwarming story! Yes indeed, Love is timeless, limitless, and eternally available when we say YES to it. After all God is Love itself, omnipotent, and omnipresent.

That is such a lovely love story! Thanks for sharing it Marguerite. I too believe it is never too late for love. If you are open to a new love it will find you. I think that when you find love at a later age in life, you experience it at a different (higher, more spiritual) level because of your past experience. You are therefore kinder and more accepting of each other’s flaws and quirks! You just relax and enjoy just the mere presence of the other person so I totally get it when you stated how loving your uncle and his wife were when you were in their presence. I wish to send them my congratulations and best wishes for many more loving years to come!

Thank you Eve for such wise comments and your wishes for my uncle and his wife. I do agree with you about the nature of “older” love. It’s different. I also had an aunt who got married at 70. Her husband died after 13 years of marriage. She said those years were the happiest years of her life.

Much love and blessings to you

    Marguerite

Thanks Carol. You are right – just say “YES” – loud and clear!!! Spirit will echo and say “YES but what took you so long?”

    Blessings

    Marguerite
