“Work is love made visible”

As you can see from the above photo, I was delighted beyond all measure at a lovely surprise. I was facilitating a workshop with Island Grill, a longstanding client, two weeks ago. In the middle of the workshop, Thalia, the CEO said “We have something for you” and presented me with a citation that reads:
There are many moments in my career which bring to mind Kahlil Gibran’s words in The Prophet on Work. This is one such moment. In his chapter on Work, the Prophet says:
“Always you hav ebeen told that work is a curse and a misfortune.
But I say to you that when you work you fulfil a part of earth’s furthest dream, assigned to you when that dream was born,
And in keeping yourself with labour you are in truth loving life”
And it goes on. I urge you to read “The Prophet” and to ponder Kahlil Gibran’s words on work. Ask yourself: Do I view work as love or misfortune? Do you work with joy or distaste? Perhaps it’s time for a change – not of the job, but of how you view work.
“All work is empty save where there is love”
You deserve it, Marguerette. Keep on doing what you are doing.
If I must add; WORK is indeed a PRAYER.
Thanks Catherine. Love the thought – taking it further, work is a prayer answered!
Hi Marguerite, you received a well deserved appreciation and honor! May I add that is is love of work and the people you work with! You have taught me that! Love you! Ulla
Thanks Ulla – people like you make it easy to love and love my work! Love you too!
