The Busy Show

I often hear people singing how busy they are, with the greatest of glee – “I am SO busy” … as if it’s some type of badge of honour. Such people are late to meetings, constantly checking their phones, shuffling papers and generally just rushing from one moment to the next. Sometimes for amusement, I detach and watch “The Busy Show”: Mr. or Ms. Busy So-And-So rushing around trying to do a million things at once, so proud of his/her ability to multi-task, even whilst accomplishing very little. Oh it’s hilarious! Especially when Ms. Busy So-And-So is me! Then I really have to laugh!
Busy busy busy – detach for a moment today and watch yourself. Are you really busy or just disorganized, unfocused, procrastinating or all of the above? Take a breath and bring some order and focus back into your life. Stop trying to do more than one thing at a time. Focus on the task at hand and revel in the joy of immersing yourself in it. Choose what’s important and do that. The rest will take care of itself.
Write yourself out of the script of The Busy Show and start living your own life, in the present.
And …. “busy” always sounds so frantic. Is that what you are? Are you frantic? Hope not.
I choose a “full life” rather than a frantic life.
I want to be on ‘The Full and Fulfilling Life Show’.
Thanks for the picture 🙂
So true Judi – especially when “busy” is preceded by “SOOOOO busy”. And sometimes I catch myself in the show. But most times, like you, I strive for the “Full and Fullfilling Life Show” – one moment at a time.
Blessings
