How often do we take the time to tell someone “thank you” – but even more, to go beyond the simple thank you (which is enough) and fully express our gratitude?

I mused on this when I opened my Inbox on the weekend to find this heartwarming e-mail.  I felt so good reading it that I resolved right then and there to up my quotient of kind words.  Can you say “thank you” too much?  Can you be too grateful?  I think not.

So here’s the e-mail that Mary took the time to write and send to me.  I am in a state of total, unbounded and unconditional gratitude to Mary for her sweet words, and for the gift that has been given to me of touching people through my words.

Hello Marguerite:

You are a blessing, I just finish reading “Free and Laughing” today. I had to send you a note

I picked up the book this week and could not put it down. To and from work it became my companion.

There were so many things in this book that I related to, it was inspiring, uplifting and real. From chapter to chapter I saw myself and many experiences I encountered through out life to date.

Thank you for inspiring me and the world, I am happy I came across your wonderful work of art at the (UWI Toronto Gala in February 2010). Keep inspiring the world through your words of wisdom.

Thanks for the simple things you can do Ch 44. and to your mother wise lady.

May God continue to bless you and your family.

Regards,

Mary Rouse

Try doing this today – send a note to someone telling them how much you appreciate what they have done and what they mean to you.   Make it more than a simple thank you (although that is enough) – go beyond and really express your gratitude.   Let it flow from your heart.  Gratitude is an expression of love.  When you consciously express gratitude, you are expanding your capacity to love.  Love knows no limits, so you are free to grow in love exponentially, until you are nothing but love.  What a beautiful state that will be – pure love.  Start with the simple step of expressing gratitude
