T.G.I.M. – what does work mean to you?

Thank God It’s Monday!   YIPPPPEEEEE!

Not happy that it’s Monday?  Well, ask yourself why.   Is it that the weekend of fun is over and you are back to the grind of work?  Did you know that work doesn’t have to be that way?  Did you know that work can be fun, invigorating, exciting, fulfilling and glorious?  Did you know that you can have the best time of your life when you are working?  Did you know that all of this is up to you, and not your boss or coworkers?

HUHHHH?  Yes, it’s up to YOU.  If you answered “NO” to any of the above questions and are sitting thinking that OK, this free and laughing thing has really gone to Marguerite’s head – then answer these questions:

  1. What does WORK mean to you?
  2. When were you most productive?
  3. Can you think of a time when you were really happy working?
  4. What would have to change for you to be happy at work?
  5. How would you have to change for you to be happy at work?

Start this process of thinking what work means to you.

My basic assumption for my life is that work is an integral part of how I express myself and add value to humanity.  Work is an integral part of how I help others to explore and express their magnificence.  Work is an integral part of how I make this world a better place.  So yes, this morning, I say “T.G.I.M.”!!!!

I like the last part of the blog… work is how we contribute to the world. I need to remember that.

When we remember that, then we bring the best of ourselves to work everyday!
