Whatever I want I must DO and BE

I am in Miami on a weekend jaunt with my children having a great time staying with cousins. As we tried to get up and about this lazy Sunday morning, I found myself saying repeatedly to the children “Go and get ready”. This went on for over an hour, with my being totally ignored. Then I noticed myself – lounging around reading, surfing the net, drinking coffee, etc. and it occurred to me – if I want my children to get ready, then I must get ready. So, I quietly got up, got dressed and now I note that, without my having to say a word, the children have started to get ready!

Which got me to musing – whatever I want in my life, I have to DO and BE. For like attracts like. To have more of anything in my life I need to DO and BE those things. First. No waiting until …

So, to have more prosperity in my life, I have to DO prosperous things – save money, spend wisely, invest. No waiting until I have a million dollars. First. And I have to BE prosperity – thinking thoughts always of abundance, unlimited supply and giving unconditionally and opening up to allow others to receive. Gratefully. First.

And to have more love in my life I have to BE love. First. And DO loving things. FIRST. Say “I love you”. First. Give of myself. First. Think loving thoughts. First. Be grateful for the love in my life. FIRST.

To have happiness in my life, I have to BE happy and DO happy things. First. No waiting for someone else to make me happy. No waiting for others to do things. No waiting for situations to be perfect. No waiting. I am happy. First.

Whenever we feel that we want something more in our lives, when we feel something is missing, we must decide to DO and BE that thing. First. Immediately. Now. In this way, we will start attracting what we want. Like magic

It is so wonderful having you and the children here in Miami and it is good to be back here in Miami myself. Funny after living in Ocho Rios for almost 4 years and hardly ever getting to see the familiy in Kingston it took for my moving back to Miami for us to get together. Oh well so it go and I do hope to see you all more often wherever it may be.

What a morning it has been with all of our efforts to get the chidren ready and I was thinking to myself quietly as I moved around the house doing this and doing that that, that one of us (adults) needed to take charge and prepare ourselves and perhaps the children shall follow.

And here it is without conversation to you even though we were in the same room we were having the same exact thougts.

Yes we must take ACTION in order to BE. Take our thoughts, our words, our desries and put them into ACTION. This is something that we practice in Buddhisim.
It is not always easy to do so as we do tend to get caught up in everyday life but if we try this practice of DOING it will eventually become natural and easy without thought and what magic we can create when we do so.
Have to run now as I have to get myself ready so the childen shall follow.
    Gone to Do & BE.

Thank you Marguerite for that very important reminder. So often we can forget this simple truth and go throughout life trying to get ourselves and others to achieve or have things or charactistic that we are not yet being.

The formula is Be, Do, Have. The uninitiated try to do it the other way around – leading them to confusion, frustration and despair.

The solution is easy whatever we want to have in our lives we have to be it first, then do and we will have it.
    In love and light
